Bryan Washington Amos

Savannah, Georgia - Bryan Washington Amos, 86, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Tara at Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Carrol County, Virginia, son of James W. and Addie Allen Amos. Mr. Amos was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He was an Aerospace Engineer having been employed by Lockheed Corporation and a contractor with Gulfstream Aerospace.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Addie Rankin Amos of Savannah; two sons, Nelson Amos of Savannah; Tom Amos and his wife, Karin of Germany and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Hillsville, Virginia.

Bryan was one of the first engineers at Lockheed to help me an apprentice stress engineer get started in the Stress group. I learned much from Bryan that helped me to succeed in this field. I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to work with and be a friend of Bryan's.
